Thomas Bjorn and Paul McGinley have been named as captain's for this year's Vivendi Trophy.
Formerly known as the Seve Trophy - after legendary Spanish golfer Seve Ballesteros - the tournament sees Britain and Ireland take on continental Europe every two years.
Bjorn, who is the chairman of the European Tour's Players Committee, will lead the European side into battle against McGinley's men.
This year's event will be held at Saint-Nom-la-Breteche near Paris between September 24th and 27th.
News of the new competition name comes with Ballesteros still recovering from a number of operations to remove a cancerous brain tumour.
He spent nearly two months in a Madrid hospital at the end of last year after collapsing.
European Tour chief executive George O'Grady said: 'Fittingly, Seve has a special relationship with France, where Vivendi is based and where he has won no fewer than nine times.'
